The apartment in the photograph is not always the apartment on the lease. Staging, a model unit, and CORT furniture are useful. They are also a different room than the one you will sleep in. Tour the residence whose number will be on the lease.

What the model is for
A model shows scale, light at that hour, and how a sofa sits in that plan. It does not show the view from the unit you are signing, the exact closet count, or whether that line has a terrace. If the model is on floor 12 and your unit is on 21, you have learned the plan, not the apartment.
Furniture in marketing photos is often staged. CORT is a confirmed furniture partner in this building. That is a rental, not a gift that comes with the keys. Ask what stays and what is pulled before you count a dining table as yours.
What to match on the tour
Bring the floor-plan PDF for the specific residence. Walk the rooms in the same order as the plan. Measure the wall you care about. Open the closets. If the model had a washer and the plan for your unit does not, believe the plan. The 5th-floor laundry room is the backup, not a surprise.
Finishes can vary by generation of turnover. A renovated kitchen in the model is not a finish schedule for every line. If a material matters to you, photograph it in the unit you will sign, not in the model.
Sign the number you walked
If the available unit is occupied until a future date, you may only see a model today. That is a reason to come back, or to accept that you are buying a plan plus an available date, not a room you have stood in. Filter listings by the actual residence number and schedule that tour.
